Health starts from the chair and pad
Tables, chairs, and mats include daily use tables, writing desks, work tables, dining tables, computer tables, chairs, stools, floor mats, chair cushions, back cushions, etc. They are inseparable from us every day and are good partners in our work and life. . Unfortunately, we care too little about them, just use them, no choices and improvements. The ergonomics scholars all over the world have studied this system almost and found many mysteries. This article focuses on the close relationship between chair and pad and human health and work efficiency.
Good chair and pad must meet the following requirements: (1) can maintain normal body shape, not deform and bend the spine; (2) ensure uniform weight distribution, maintain balance and stability of the body; (3) the leg nerves are not squeezed, To ensure smooth blood flow; (4) to help change posture, reduce fatigue, improve efficiency, and give people a sense of comfort; (5) easy to sit up activities, work and rest.
Chairs can generally be divided into two categories: one is a work chair for work; the other is a lounge chair for rest. From the structural point of view, the chair can be divided into four parts: the seat surface, the backrest, the bracket and the armrest. The specific requirements are as follows:
The sitting surface and the bracket are the main components supporting the human body. Its height, width, depth and inclination are related to human health and chair comfort. (1) Seat height: If the sitting surface is too high, the legs will be suspended, the thigh pressure will be increased, and the blood circulation will be affected. If the sitting is long, the lower limbs will be numb and swollen; if the sitting surface is too low, the calf will be sore and the knees will be raised when getting up. It takes a lot of effort and the elderly will feel particularly strenuous. The height of the sitting surface of the work chair should be the length of the human tibia, which is about 1/4 of the height, 38 to 45 cm; the height of the seat of the leisure chair can be slightly lower, about 35 cm, and it needs to be used according to the use. Age and comfort are determined. (2) Seat depth: refers to the distance from the leading edge to the trailing edge of the sitting surface. If the sitting surface is too deep, the calf will be pressed and easily numb; if the sitting surface is too shallow, the front of the thigh will be suspended, increasing the burden on the calf. The depth of the sitting surface of the work chair is preferably 3/4 of the total length of the thigh, usually 40 to 45 cm; the leisure chair and the sofa can be slightly deep, but cannot exceed 53 cm. (3) Seat width: refers to the span from the left side to the right side of the chair, which is based on the width of the buttocks. Generally, 40 to 45 cm is suitable, and the hip hypertrophy can be appropriately widened. (4) The angle of the sitting surface, the general work chair should be tilted backward by 4 ° ~ 6 °, the leisure chair can be increased to 14 ° ~ 24 °.

The mats that are matched with the chairs have foot pads, cushions and back cushions, each of which has a unique effect. The foot pad can be used for protection against cold and warmth. It can generally be made of wood, plastic or felt. The height should be determined by the length of the user's legs. For those who are not tall, the foot pad can make up for the high surface defects. The seat cushion makes the buttocks soft and comfortable, increases the contact area between the buttocks and the sitting surface, reduces the unevenness of the pressure distribution, and reduces the body slip. The cushion should not be too thick, 2 to 2.5 cm thick. Generally, it should be made of fiber material with good permeability. Do not use non-breathable plastic. The back pad is often used in the waist.
